The Happy Child House

Yesterday Kate stopped by at lunch time. I was feeling so "Alyssa" because I actually had homemade soup to feed her. And I mean homemade by me (Enchanted Broccoli forest potato leek soup is ridiculously simple).
Anyway, this was playing on the CD player and Kate said as she walked into the kitchen, "I feel like I have entered the Happy Child House."
Myles' Legos can be spilled in the front room, the living room can be littered with the victims of a massive train wreck, Cheerios can be in the weirdest places, and a little boy's attempts to help with his breakfast dishes can have resulted in toast and banana stuck the the kitchen floor, but I put on his Laurie Berkner CDs and it is like Valium for me. Maybe there are subliminal messages in her music, "Everything is FINE. You are FINE. It isn't a mess; it is PLAY. Good Mommy. Happy Children."
Myles loves his Laurie Berkener CDs, too. She is like his rock star. He recommends her music to all toddlers everywhere.
