I know EXACTLY how he feels
At People of the Book I saw this quote from the Pope, moving back into the Papal apartment that have been remodeled.
Having moved myself eight or nine times (yes, I lose count) in the past 10 years, I totally know how he feels. Right after the kitchen is out into working (but not complete) order, the books return to the shelves briefly before then end up loaned orscatteredd about the house. That is my normal unpacking sequence. But not this time. I have a room right now full of bookshelves, as well as others scattered throughout the house, empty of books because they are still housed in my in-laws basement. Last weekend I dug through a few boxes to bring some back with me just to get some feeling of home around here. Still, too many emptyshelvess, too many tables not spilling over with books.
I really like my new library, with that antique ceiling. For me it's like being surrounded by friends, now that there are books on the shelf.
