Es ist Schnee!

Or as my sister and I like to say in our own very special German, "It schnee-ed today" the present tense being "It is schnee-ing."
After weeks of unseasonably pleasant weather (weather so pleasant that Myles and I nearly every afternoon have set off to Frick Park for fairly long hikes for a two-year-old, and way too pleasant to take down my outside Christmas lights), we were finally hit with some snow today. I showed Myles the snow this morning. You would have thought it was Christmas all over again. All he wanted to do was put his coat on (over his PJ's) and go outside. He wanted to make Snow Angels and a Snow Man and Snow Balls. We've been reading A Snowy Day a few times a week lately which is why Myles has already planned specific activities for our first Snowy Day in over a month.
After lunch I re-introduced Myles to his snowpants. We both bundled up and went outside to make the most of our maybe 2 inches of snow.
Like Peter in the Jack Ezra Keats story, Myles noticed his tracks.

Like I would expect Myles to do of his own accord, he made tracks in shapes. He made circles and squares and triangles.
And he made snow angels. In our yard. In Lucy's yard. But the best ones turned out on our deck above the carport.
