I rule!
I made Snickerdoodles, and they taste like Snickerdoodles.
I have increased my cookie repetoire to 3.
1) No-bakes, which Crispian calls Double Chocolate Goodness (not that they are any different than anyone else's no-bakes, and he has no idea they are full of oatmeal.
2) Kitchen sink cookies. Still not perfect yet, but this last batch was the best so far. I mix it all in the food processor. Since I am feeding them to Myles and Crispian, I leave out the nuts and raisins and double the chocolate chips. I think I still need to back off the peanut butter a little from the official recipe. I also use 1/3 soy flour in place of the flour--I got this tip from the Mennonite Cookbook you can get at Ten Thousand Villages. It does make them a slight bit chewier, and though I have yet to test the theory, it is also supposed to give them a longer shelf life. Cookies? Shelf life? The best thing about these cookies is that Crispian says he hates oatmeal cookies and peanut butter cookies. Shhhhhhhhhhhhh!
3) Snickerdoodles
Sometime this weekend I hope to tackle Spritz. I have made them before, years ago, so I don't anticipate failure. I would also love to make Gingerbread, which, again, I did a long time ago (for those of you who have known me a long time, I was at the Greeves St address!!), but they ended up being too hard. Yummy, but hard. If there were a way to make them without having to roll them out, that would be perfect. Maybe there is something in the Cooky Book.
I would love to make Wendy Cookies/Nikki Cookies. But the oven in our house is just awful. The thermostat doesn't work so well, and there is a meat thermometer inside the oven that I am trying to trust. I think the Wendy Cookies might need good oven control.

Kitchen sink cookies sound good AND fun!
Fingers crossed for the Spritzers...
(we never tell DJ that there's zucchini in the zucchini bread...he thinks it's just a fancier banana bread than he's used to)
