For the record, A
There are few people I envy in this life. I joke that the real Catholic Mom Bloggers make me feel inadequate (that wasn't my actual word), but some of them have written such nice things to me (don't worry, I won't out you), that I realize that I don't envy as much as admire.
But back to envy. I envy anyone with a calling to religious life. I mean serious, hardcore total monastic madness. Knowing I do not have such a calling, even to something more accessible to my state of life now like Opus Dei, has left me in an occasional funk tempered with some minor flare-ups of jealousy. I am adrift in a body of water whose size I cannot even come close to estimating. Motherhood has allowed me some idea, but the light it sheds only allows me to see into the next day sometimes. (Okay, I am really bad with metaphors. I never claimed any skill at writing).
I also envy anyone who totally "gets" the idea of blogging and started out with a pseudonym. This never dawned on me when I started. And now it is too late. I am now a Very Famous Bad Mother (haha). I will probably signing up for something at my church someday, maybe trying to get Myles into a good Catholic pre-school, and the Nun-in-Charge will look at my name, and say, "Oh yes, I remember reading about You. Yeah, our spots are AAAALLLLLL filled."
And the third thing I envy is really more of a quirky thing. I just love Minnesota. I have been there in June, in September, and in the dead of winter (second week of November). I love it, and have sought to move there so many times over the years. Not smart enough even to be a Gopher, not having the right job skills to match with some big employer there, and definitely not brave enough to decide to move there with little more than my car and my savings--for me it remains a strange unrequited dream.
So, A, check all that apply :-)

Wow, I get a whole post adressed to me? I think I hardly deserve that honor, as I just started showing up here a couple of days ago when I followed a link from a comment on puritas cordis. But uh...thanks. :)
You said "check all that apply". It sounds from this post like you might think I am a religious. I am just an oblate.
I actually did not start blogging with a pseudonym but switched over to "A" later on because of some unfortunateness that resukted when some folks googled me and found my blog. Probably a fultile gesture, since I am linked all over the freakin' place by my real name, and I can still be found in seconds through google.
And, last but not least, you "get" Minnesota, and that...that makes me smile. :)
Peace
Ok, I'll stop patting myself on the back now. It's really quite sickening. :)
