Birthday Bible verses
LC made me do it. It is easy-you look up in the Gospels the verses that correspond to your birthday. Not quite as much fun as adding "under the sheets" to the end of song titles in the Methodist hymnal (all the while the father of the girl that showed this to you---and her mother showed it to her--is preaching a sermon). But some good clean fun nonetheless. Oh yeah. This works better if you use the US month:day convention
Matthew 11:9
Then why did you go out? To see a prophet? Yes, I tell you, and more than a prophet.
Mark 11:9
Those preceding him as well as those following kept crying out: "Hosanna! Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord!
Luke 11:9
"And I tell you, ask and you will receive; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you
(this brings back such great memories of a singing group I was in called the Allegheny Chamber Singers and we sang a song by Natalie Sleeth that was a setting of this verse. We referred to it as "Sleeth and ye shall find." Also, I seem to remember a joke about "Sleaze and ye shall find...."
John 11:9
Jesus answered, "Are there not twelve hours in a day? If one walks during the day, he does not stumble, because he sees the light of this world.
