Light Up Night and a sighting
Light Up Night, while freezing cold, was fantastic. We met Kate's old friend Jim downtown, like we did last year. We got to see Santa, and the kiddie fireworks, and eat a bunch of junk. Good times.
For the main fireworks we drove over to the North Shore (if you haven't been in Pittsburgh in a long time, that is the relatively new name for the area where the new stadium and ball park are) and watched from the Clemente Bridge. I was running with Myles across teh bridge with Myles to get a better view. Kate was behind me and I heard her make excalmations of recognition and long time no see type of things. At first I thought it was another of her coworkers or Opera people, but then I realized it was someone I actually knew, Danny Swanson from high school. He was with his very sweet fiance.

So now part of the Light Up Night tradition is that we have to run into someone from our hometown (last year it was Rev. and Mrs. Miller)
