Weird random thought

Is The Cure going to be The Rolling Stones of my generation? I know U2 has the more lasting career in terms of recurring relevance, but they aren't ridiculous. U2 is what the Beatles would have been if they continued to be around as long as the Stones.

Ah, the Stones -- there's something ridiculous and vaguely embarrassing about watching 60-something men prance and gyrate onstage like that. I think the Cure comparison is apt. Someone needs to confiscare Robert Smith's mascara. It stopped being cool and edgy a looooong time ago. Now it's just kind of pathetic.

Do you really think the Beatles would haev still been the Beatles if they had continued together? That it would be all Abbey Road and no "Got My Mind Set On You"?

Paul McCartney is on the sold out tour at the moment and he would be a front man. As long as George was a sideman and Yoko didn't interfere, they would be fine.

from someone who nearly fainted when she spotted Ron Wood at one of the last Pirate games, and from someone who also saw the Cure SEVERAL times...I take mild offence at those two bands being called ridiculous. It's only Rock n Roll, but I Like It.....

Oh vetty, we are all old. I was just wondering how long Robert Smith planned to wear the smeary make-up, and would that look as ridiculous on a 60 year-old as Mick Jaggers' everything. I still love the Cure and everything I have heard from teh new Stones album on DVE does not suck. I may have to buy it!
