Maybe I could have saved myself the embarrassment of my own boyfriend not wanting to take me to the prom. :-)

Also I liked the commenters in Open Book who were questioning the wisdom of school dances for elementary school children. I, too, am really concerned about that aspect in the future. I am really interested in investigating single-sex education for all of my children, Myles and whoever comes next (if there is a next) or at the very least primary school that goes to eighth grade. Is is too much to ask that my children be educated in an environment where they are rewarded for what they do well, encouraged to work hard at what they do not, and never be singled out and humiliated for what they really cannot do?
And whoever just said homeschool-ha ha very funny.
