Like a bad 90s sitcom (but a good idea in real life)
In the coming weeks, my sister and her son will be moving into our house and make it OUR house. With Randy gone so much it seemed ridiculous and lonely for us not to make this move.
Several times over the past few years Crispian has constructed scenarios that would have all of us live together in the same house. These, of course, were a little fantastic, being the ideas of a five-year old, but they all had the same end-and then we would all live together. Up until now, we would tell him that this was impossible because we didn't live in Pittsburgh and they didn't live in ___________(insert name of town here). But of course all that has changed and now we get to live out Crispian's social experiment :-).
And of course, any move cannot even be thought of until the requisite visit to IKEA. Kate is selling some furniture, and some new things will need to be bought to squeeze us all together here. Most of what we bought today were "storage solutions." However, not less than once did I have to give my sister some sort of Look to return to the display some of the clever stackable storage boxes she cannot keep her hands off of. If you cannot immediately articulate the stuff that will be stored in a particular box or bin, you shouldn't buy it, no matter how cleverly they stack or nest or whatever.
So right after we got home from IKEA, it was so funny to read this.
