Great little post from Puritas Cordis

She always links on her sidebar to the monthly papal prayer intention. For October it is a real beauty:
That Christians may not be discouraged by the attacks of secularized society,
but with complete trust, may bear witness to their faith and hope.

She goes on to write (masterfully as she always does):
Now that's a good prayer intention, don't you think? Not to whine about such
attacks or fire back with more venom, but to rely upon faith and hope and to
live a life that reflects the love of Christ. Too often Christians try to
fight fire with fire, which simply means we let the unbelievers set the
rules of engagement. Living the Gospel in this culture calls for a radical
disavowal of the "rules" of a secularized society. So enough with licking
our wounds and carping and back-biting and gossiping and judging and mocking
and bitching. Show me one person who was ever brought closer to Christ
because of any of that.

Amen I say to that. I guess we are both burnt out on St. Blog's. I might add that trumpeting how showily humble you are in a blog, kinda counteracts the humble act.
Okay, so I guess I just about posted her entire post, but you can still read it here.
