The cold and wet days of pre-winter are here
I would love to call it fall, and though it has many of the trappings of fall--the color changes, the romantic shower of maple leaves in candy hues, children gathering chestnuts like precious gems---but the cold and wet days that hint at imminent winter are here. They are more suitably called pre-winter in these parts. Do you think I am exaggerating. While I may have lettered in hyperbole, I assure you that I am not engaging in it right now. Snow is in the forecast later this week for the Highlands an hour east of here. It comes as early as tomorrow night in Kane where my parents live.
So let me dream not of warmer fall days, as brief and as recent as they were, or even at least drier days, but of our days at the beach.......
