You didn't think I was not going to talk about the Steeler game, did you
You know, nothing brings a family together like Football.
The game was awesome. It was so great to be able to be in my own house with family around, watching the Steeler game with the TV on Mute and the local radio turned up. And because it is important to note, Kate and I drank Marechal Foch, a new Flickerwood Wine that I love love love. It is great to sip even on warm days and I put a little in our pasta sauce for dinner and ooooh. I don't think it will replace Kate's and my football season beverage of choice, Champagne (because nothing says football like Champagne and Brie), but it will be added to the regular rotation.
Anyway, I don't need to tell you what a tremendous game this was, except for Puddin' Cordis, maybe. Willie Parker's new local nickname one of the radio hosts has been toying with is Dangerous Willie Parker. I hope it sticks. Needless to say, I have quickly added him to my Fantasy Football Roster. Oh yeah, my team name is the Pittsburgh Maulers. Remember them? My lifetime fantasy record is almost as good as theirs. I did win this week, though.
So I tried to get a picture of Myles and Crispian together in their Steelers shirts with their Terrible Towels, but this was as close as I got. Yeah, Myles is more Randy's son in this picture because he is more into his food than the game at this point.

Crispian has also decided he wants to root for the Saints this year because of Hurricane Katrina. Before the games he and Kate were watching Pam Oliver's segment from the AstroDome and it affected Crispian greatly (I missed it because i was doing my penance in the cry room at St. Bede's). I told him that was great, but not to get his hopes up too much.
"Do you know what we called them in Mississippi?" I asked him. "The Ain'ts!"
"The Ain'ts?" he asked back.
"Yeah, beacuse they ain't going to win this week either."
"Well maybe NOW it means that they ain't going to lose ever again!" he taunted back.
He might be onto something.
