September 11th post--not really

I really wish I could write something that hasn't been said or written already, or link to something I find completely brilliant regarding this, but I really can't. Complete loss for words and thoughts on this.
It's my sister Megan's birthday (by the way, happy belated to Corinne last week--I usually forget to note anyone's birthdays by the time I get around to blogging, late at night). For the rest of her life, whenever she wants to celebrate her birthday, people will note the historical and tragic significance to her. Or maybe not. My birthday falls on the anniversary of Kristallnacht AND the Fall of the Berlin Wall. No one has ever pointed out those connections to me. Tragedies and historical events fade into the background at some point. Then only Jeopardy contestants remember the exact date they happened.
As I said, complete loss for words.......real, meaningful words..........

we all remember it because it's so new and so sudden. really, has this country ever seen such tragedy before that (aside from natural disasters), on our soil? people still mourn the lockerbie victims, too.

i used to tell people that it was easy to remember my birthday (9-1-1) but i guess it'll be hard to forget now, too.
