More Elizabethtown Anticipation
From today's E-town paper:
So, if the Rubberboots Girl were still in E-town, I know, just know, that she would have a ticket to this special screening of Elizabethtown in Elizabethtown that will be attended by Cameron Crowe himself. I mean, with a guest list of 250 with their Plus Ones, there would have to be an invite for the City Tech Guru, or the daughter of the Most Important Man in E-town, the liquor control guy. And for her Plus One, if Monty couldn't go, I know she would invite her best friend. (My lashes begin to flutter). And if KB couldn't go, I know she would then ask her best girl-friend. (I try to flash a coy, moi? smile) And when Melissa wouldn't be able to drive all the way down from Chicago, you better believe I would beg her to take me instead :-) Maybe even PAY.
While I was packing up in Mississippi, she also had an "E-town, the movie" post that I forgot I wanted to link to when I got back to blogging. She actually got to watch some of the filming from her office! And what WOULD have happened had Jane Fonda still been in the cast........?
Elizabethtown will roll out the red carpet next Saturday when Hollywood director Cameron Crowe visits the town he named his new movie after to host the first United States screening of "Elizabethtown."
More than 250 invitations will be sent out for the local premiere, which will take place at 1 p.m. at The Movie Palace in Elizabethtown following a catered barbecue lunch at 11:30 a.m. at Freeman Lake Park.
"We're certainly glad they're coming," said Elizabethtown Mayor David Willmoth. "We get the advance showing."
The film doesn't open for nationwide audiences until Oct. 14.
