Elizabethtown is bracing itself for the inevitable onslaught of tourists because of all the publicity they can expect due to the movie! From todays' E-town paper:

Hollywood's spotlight is about to burn an image of Elizabethtown into the minds of people across the nation, if not the world.
The star-packed Cameron Crowe film named after the town is playing for audiences at international film festivals and will make its United States premiere here Saturday.
Exposure at this level has made small communities instantly recognizable and pumps in tourist dollars — sometimes for decades....

[can it be expected that] "Elizabethtown" will depict a bunch of yokels?
"I've been assured that that is not the image created in the movie," said Sherry Murphy, director of the Elizabethtown Tourism and Convention Bureau.
If Crowe's romantic comedy does cast a positive light on the community, it will be "very beneficial," she said, especially with promotional efforts.
Murphy said she envisions tourists coming to see the downtown featured in the movie and saying things such as: "Oh,
I remember that scene."
They'll also buy gas, food and maybe stay at local hotels.
"All of the businesses in the community, I would think, would
benefit in one way or another," Murphy said.

Actually, I do think it would be great if E-town experienced some sort of "bounce" from Cameron Crowe's artful framing of it. Even the trailer is making a little homesick already, and I only lived there for a year (I lived in nearby Bardstown for the other year I lived in Kentucky)
