Moving is so much fun

As proof I am too burdened with material things, I own:

• nearly 100 cloth napkins of various patterns
• 40+ champagne flutes
• 12 crystal chanpagne flutes across 3 set (but only one set of four)
• 2 Queen size sheet sets
• 12 full-size sheet sets
• 4 coffee makers (5 if you count my espresso machine)
• 7 can openers
• 60+ pairs of shoes (modest compared to Carrie Bradshaw)
• 20+ purses (again, see the Carrie Bradshaw reference)
• 3 large computer monitors (and only one is attached to a computer)
• 11 rolls of Christmas wrapping paper, all partially used.

I have found:

• the program from the Mass at my home church when I graduated from high school
• a box of every business card printed with my name on it ever, including a box that was recalled by Johanson because the printer used the wrong paper stock
• marketing literature for every magnet company that was in the US in the1990s (most are gone)
• a postcard my aunt Sue sent from Trieste--in 1988
• my copy of the Mousetrap--staged at my high school in 1988
• a photograph of my friend from home's son John for his first Christmas--he's in 2nd grade now
• a PECO electric bill I can't remember paying (from when we left Bucks County)
• my immunization records
• Eileen's backpack from her senior year of high school still full of books--she's 23

I have learned:

• baby socks are perfect for packing shot glasses
• company dress shirts, you know the kind you have to wear at trade shows, are also good packing material, thus proving that they aren't useless (BTW, for VAC, a company I only worked for for two years, I have 2 types of white dress shirts, one casual shirt in 3 different colors, and randy even can one-up me with a vest)
• movers were invented for a reason
