Blogging from Kane

Since my DSL still will not be functioning until after the first of September (the hold-up? beats me...I have the modem and the filter), I still will not be on top of the blog or email. I drove up to Kane today because my friend Wendy's baby shower is tomorrow. I don't know what it is about showers, but I just love going to them. When I was in a position to have a baby shower thrown for me, I threw such a fit not wanting it that my sister and family and some friends had to conspire to throw me a Suprise Shower. And I was able to thwart the marital process to the point where I effectively got out of the potential embarassment of a bridal shower. Ugh--can you really see me holding all those flipping bows in a bouquet? But when I am at a shower thrown by someone else for someone else, I am all into it. I am competitive on the silly games; I remind people of all the rituals and traditions that are appropriate to the occassion (like the bow bouquet). It's like weddings, too---love them love them love them, as long as they aren't mine.
Anyway, for those of you who were home for our HS reunion and were amazed that Global Warming, unlike any other major trend of the past 40 years, actually hit Kane approximately the same time as the rest of the world, will instead be reassured that all is right because here at the end of August it is miserably drizzling and holding steady under 65 degrees.
