Puritas Corbin post that was better than the Homily I heard this morning

But at least I should be grateful the priest showed up. According to my mother-in-law, there have been at least three instances in the past few weeks where either he has completely failed to show up for Mass or he was sleeping in the locked Rectory and had to be awoken at the time of Mass (once with a phone call and the other time he didn't answer the phone so the housekeeper's husband I think let himself in and woke him up). I feel sorry for the man if a full-time parish assignment is too much for him. But, come on Bishop Trautmann--I get the sinking feeling that when the Dean brings this to your attention it won't be a surprise to either of you. That we aren't talking if--it was when. Please please please Bishop T--don't let Rod Dreher be right about everything he says about the Bishops in this country.
Anyway, Puritas Corbin has a nice post on the readings this morning that if you went to Mass or services at any of the Churches of the Three-Year-Lectionary, you would have heard these. Corbin has a nice tie-in to the sacraments with these readings. As always, a great reflection.
