No one is going to tag me, so I am going to tag myself

I've seen this on a few blogs, today on Open Book. Since I am not going to get tagged, I'll just take it upon myself to get it started in my own circle of blogs.

Total # of books I own: Between Randy and me, upwards of 1000. But I am including a few Calculus textbooks.

Last book I bought: A new copy of Henry Miller's Tropic of Cancer. I had a well-loved copy years ago that I foolishly gave as a gift to a friend that it had no impact on.

Last book I read: Old School by Tobias Wolff. I had never read anything by him. Wow! I particularly loved the scene with Ayn Rand. Good stuff.

Books I'm reading now: Byron Barton's Trucks, Goodnight Moon, What to Expect the Toddler Years (because I need to know how bad of a mother I am), The Tenant of Wildfell Hall by Anne Bronte

Books that have been important to me: Tropic of Cancer, The Unbearable Lightness of Being, Far from the Madding Crowd, God of Small Thing, Howard's End, Eucharist by Schmemann (see! a religious book!), a book of Wendell Berry Poems, the Road Atlas. Of course the Bible, too. Okay, a lot of these were on this list, too. What is funny to me about this list is all the real Catholic Bloggers list all kinds of religious books, like St. Augustine, lots of Chesterton, lots of CS Lewis. I really don't fit in with the St. Blog's crowd, do I?

Tag, you're it--Puritas Corbin, Ono, Natasha, Rubberboots Girl, and Neha, if any of you are out there. Also, anyone else that is dying to do this, please do so. I love to hear what is important to other folks, and it might help me find something new to read.
