High School reunion Wine Party

So Friday we made arrangements to meet at the winery...pd and ron, Rhenda, and Tonia. Unfortunately sp and frau sp were not driving up until the next day, but it ended up being good for me because I had to go back to the winery on Saturday. Wendy, not a classmate but still one of our bestest friends, could not attend because she and had to go to Italy to visit friends and then take a cruise around Italy and France and Greece.
It was great to see everyone, even though pd looks suspiciously younger than he did in the picture from Tonia's wedding a few years ago. Maybe it was just the shorter hair. Hmmmmm.

By the way, in this picture I am covered with Wendy's pashmina because at Tonia's BLACKTIE super formal wedding I spilled my dinner right down my front. Yeah, I just have the kid with me all the time now to blame him for my food mishaps.
Rhenda was probably the biggest surprise because I have been in touch more recently with everyone else that was there. I hadn't seen Rhenda since the FIRST time I lived in Kentucky (that was 1997!). And since she doesn't have a computer anymore I can't even email her. I had to call her mom to get her number, and we talked last week when I was stopped on the Alligator Bridge because the draw mechanism was stuck. I can't blame Rhenda for not wanting to go to the reunion, so I was so glad that she agreed to meet us in Kane on Friday. When I was 20, I worked at a bar in Mt. Jewett, the next town over from Kane, and I lived at Rhenda's trailer. That was when I started my fandom of Beavis and Butthead. Rhenda's trailer was legendary--I will just leave it at that. The best thing for me, coming back to her trailer after closing the bar at 2 am, was to cook her and whoever else happened to stop by, some eggs or "fried dough" (still not sure what that was), and lay on her water bead and watch B&B.
Wine was sipped, my spelling corrected (pd says Didn't in the context below would have to be spelled Di-hint--but he would know better than I hehe), and we did venture into some of that Na-ah territory. They all tried to guess who stick up her rear was (some of their guesses I had even forgotten about).
What a time. I hope next time we are through Kane we get to stop to see Rhenda and her large collection of Elmo's. Myles has no idea what Heaven is like yet, but I suspect seeing 200 Elmos might come close.
And one of the things I had in my car was Tonia's Christmas present. Which is still in my car because I AGAIN forgot I had it there. Oh well. Maybe for her housewarming....
