High School Reunion Posts

There will be a couple as I have time and can get some pictures up. Since I am still in Clarion at the library fighting the sticking keyboard, this will probably be brief. I'll be at my sister's tomorrow so I should be able to get some photos up.

First of all, while I was in Kane, running into and avoiding all kinds of people in bars where a $3 bottle of beer is outrageously expensive, this is what the Rubberboots Girl was up to. Someday I will travel, unrelated to work, and get to see the pretty parts of the world. Es tut's mir leid, but Hanau isn't one of them :-).

So Friday and Saturday both I arranged for friends to meet me at Flickerwood Winery for wine tastings and, thanks to some revisions in the Pennsylvania laws, buying and drinking onsite. Whoo Hoo. And beause it matters, we had on Friday 2 bottles of the Rt 6 Steuben and one of the Chantilly White. On Saturday, we only had a bottle of the Pinot Grigio and one of the Viognier.
I'll get more up in the next few days of the who's and where's and what's.

But a few notes:
-Stick up her You Know What was NOT there. That should narrow it down if you don't know who it is. Guesses in the comboxes will be deleted. And no, I didn't graduate with Sharon Stone.
-My friend Sonia and I made a pact that by our next reunions we will be HOTT and wear sequins. Since we are both still having kids, no point on working on it that hard just yet :-)
-I didn't think I was that late coming to the baby party, but so many of my classmates are already "done" having kids. And I will still have the most grandchildren (some people are still trying to figure this math) at our 20th.
-I didn't even get a good opportunity to brag to Mr. Most Successful. About myself, that is. Just about my sister Kate (telling people she is an opera singer is way more impressive than anything I can do), really. Oh well, he can read this thing. Don't miss the patent post!
-And a note to sp---I really don't mean for my self-revealing posts to come off as pity-me posts. They really are more about my own amusement of being a can't even get that right type of thing. I am serious, though, when I describe myself as something of a dropout. The baby thing came as a surprise, but no surprise really that I chose not to work, because when you factor in $20,000 a year for an au pair or a good Montessori or Reggio Emilio Daycare, my job totally sucked at $20,000 a year less. And children deserve more than 2 overworked, miserable parents. So now I exist in this limbo--not sure what to do next, pretty sure I don't want to go back, fixin' to have more kids, moving too much to get involved with anything--if it weren't for this blog and the blogs I read and comment on regularly, I would be totally invisible. The thought of that takes me back to college days reading all the Friedan and Steinem, thinking, that can't possibly happen to me.

I am reading this, with great interest- how can I pass up a blog that covers Kane, Pittsburgh, and Catholicism? Magnetics, too, but I am not as interested in that (them?), although I did see the patent post.

Didn't you tell everyone who Miss Stick was? - Mr. Most Successful Tool

I'll have to follow up with her on this, then, at the next meeting of the Montgomery County Chapter of the Kane Society.
