Heavy Metal Round-Up
Okay, so everywhere I turn there are more revived Heavy Metal and Hair Bands touring, on TV, and in the blogs.
I wrote earlier this week about Halford of Priest on Fresh Air. Puritas Corbin posted the other day about the return of Stryper.
And I forgot this very funny story from 2 weeks ago. My sister Kate had a work trip to take out to Lincoln, Nebraska. That's when Crispian, Myles, and I went to the Outer Banks. Her flights were delayed and re-routed so much because of the bad tornado storms all over the mid-west and prairie-states that she didn't get to her hotel until like 1 am. After checking in she dragged ass up to her room and the key card didn't work. And while she is trying and re-trying the card, she hears next door to her at least one really loud man's voice. Great, she thinks, I have to go down and have them check the card and maybe I can switch rooms, too. At the desk they re-program her card, but they tell her that she cannot have a new room because they are so booked up and probably should have told her when she checked in that there were 4 rock bands staying there. She asked, who?
The next day as Kate is re-telling this to me, she starts to list them out:
"Quiet Riot......Cinderella....ummm...Ratt....and one more....ummm"
Oh please, please,please tell me it is Britny Fox
"Oh yeah--Firehouse."
Not quite as Where Are They No, but oh wow.
