Sorry, Pope Benedict XVI! Our Honeymoon is over
Okay, Pope Benedict XVI. I must return to one of the most fun things in the world for me, making fun of all things German.
If you happen to be here because of some recent linkage I received on some Famous Blogs, allow me to explain....I used to work for a German company. It was once a subsidiary of Siemens, though it wasn't at the time I worked there. While I worked in the U.S. and all my work was focused on the U.S. (mostly automotive), my managers and bosses were usually German. The corporate culture was very much a bad translation of German culture. I left that company for a year and then went back for some ridiculous reason or another. They terminated me at the end of my maternity leave, which made me unbelievably happy. That bliss continues to this day, nearly a year and a half later.
Regardless of my indebtedness to former employer, I still enjoy something we kinda started when I worked there..making fun of all things German. It really is fun. You should try it sometime.
So The Rubberboots Girl sent me a link today from the blog of CaliValleyGirl who occassionally pops up here, too. It appears one of the food companies in Germany is marketing Teddy Bear shaped cold cuts. This is such a departure from the traditioanl German treatment of die Kinder. I mean is the country that gives us this
