Katie Callihan's senior art show
Last week , Myles and I attended his older sister Katie's senior art show at East Forest School. All of the senior advanced art students were to set up a table displaying their best projects. Katie's were mostly stained glass, with one silk-screen sweatshirt that says Asthmatics are Sexy with a picture of an Albuterol Inhaler, and an etching. Katie is also a big horse person. In addition to owning her own hose, just about every job she has held in high school has had something to do with horses. She has worked as a guide at a local trail ride in the summer. Right now she exercises show horses. In the photo on the right here are two of her equus-inspired art pieces. The one on the right is an etching of her horse. On the left is a stepping stone she made. In addition to pouring the cement, she had to cut and polish all the glass. She and her sister Eileen are planning on making some of these this summer to sell at the Summers' Blue Grass Festival (Eileen's in-laws). In the picture below are Katie and Myles looking at themselves in a stained glass mirror Katie made. Just some cool stuff.
