I haven't had much time to watch NASCAR this season

But I guess that is a good thing.
First of all, it would bore my 2 or 3 regular readers for me to go on about restrictor plates and tire wear and drafting.
Secondly, my main man Matt Kenseth is stinking this year. As of this week he is 26th in points in Nextel Cup. He's doing a little better in the Busch series, but in that series he has only driven 5 races. Yeah, for some reason he is outstanding on Saturday but can't Get 'er Done on Sunday. RIght now it looks like only those drivers in the Top 15 have a chance to be in the Race for the Championship.
My number 2 guy, Michael Waltrip is rumored to be out of a ride at the end of this season, and he is only 2 places out of the top 15.
Poor Poor Matt.
But in better news, something I have missed. Christian Science Monitor ran a feature on the growing popularity of NASCAR with women. This is really old news. The media has been analyzing the increasing presence of women and families at the track and among NASCAR fans since DW had the Tide Ride back in the 80s.
But what I have missed when I have not been able to watch races this year is that the most magical baby product in the world was a racing sponsor this year. There is even a T-shirt!
