Sucker Punched by Movies

Amy Welborn at Open Book challenged her readers to come up with a list of "Divinely Inspired Movies." These movies were ones in which you may not have seen any spiritual dimension to them, until a second or third viewing, or after someone told you and then you were like, duh. Two of the movies that always come up are Groundhog Day and The Big Lebowski. I couldn't contribute anything, because I couldn't think of any. But since I am so glass half-empty, I could think of movies that were hyped as "uplifting" or "spiritual" and then when I watched them I felt completely let down, not artistically, but in the sense that I can't beleive this is someone's idea of uplifting.
Two that I have seen in the past few years that fit this for me are Simon Birch and the Cider House Rules. Simon Birch because A Prayer for Owen Meany it isn't. And the Cider House rules--no matter how you slice it with the love stories and the coming of age crap, it is just a movie about abortion. Aboriton as a movie theme doesn't bother me (I am a grown-up and understand that not everyone shares the same worldview, so I can handle movies and the like that are for and against me, so to speak), but don't psych me out to see some sort of warm and touching film when at the end it is just about abortion. Period.
Anyone else?
