What a squeaker!!
Oh man oh man oh man. The Steelers could have played better but what a hard-fought win. For the Jags, I will say that Leftwich was impressive. What is it with the QB's from the MAC. these days? Does this mean now more people than just my old friend Jeff Godley will care about Central Michigan?
So in the last few minute and a half of the game we were watching ESPN and listening to WDVE, which is really the only way to do it. One of the guys (I think it was Tunch) said this was precisely the type of game he wanted Ben to face--a rough, final minute winner. He said this at the beginning of that last Steelers drive, so it wasn't really fun to hear. Of course, if the Steelers are going to be serious about returning to Jacksonville in January, this is preceisly the test Ben needed to face. But it is sooooo hard on fans.
ESPN has the playoff picture as it looks now. Right now the Steelers have home-field advantage but that could change when in the next few weeks they need to face the Jets, the Ravens, and the Bills. Patriots only play high school teams for the rest of the season I think. The NFC should just cancel Wild-Cards this year, though making the play-offs when you are under .500 may be pretty emabarassing.
Myles learned an important skill to watching sports on TV or in person really. He has long since mastered the congratulatory clap, and the excited cheering. He has learned to yell touchdown, even if the other team has scored. Tonight we worked on growling and shaking our fists at the TV. He thought that was the funniest thing imaginable.
